Funeral Service for Mr. Charles Henry Harbison, 92, of Alexander City, will be Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Bro. Gary Gulledge will officiate. Burial will follow in the Tallapoosa County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Mr. Charles Henry Harbison, known affectionately as Charles, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2024, in Alexander City. Born on June 2, 1931, in Cullman County, Charles lived a life marked by service, creativity, and kindness.
A proud veteran, Charles served his country in the United States Navy before embarking on a career as a maintenance specialist at Pitney Bowes. His innovative spirit shone brightly, leading him to patent several items throughout his lifetime. Charles was also a faithful member of Standing in the Gap, where he shared his generous heart and craftsmanship.
Remembered for his exceptional kindness and creativity, Charles was a pillar in his community and a devoted family man. He had a remarkable ability to care for those in need, and his legacy as an excellent craftsman will be cherished by all who knew him.
Charles's warmth and generosity will be deeply missed, yet his memory will continue to inspire love and compassion in the hearts of his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Charlene Gulledge (Gary) of Jacksons Gap; grandchildren, Aubrey Gulledge Champion (Ernest) of New Site, Nicholas Gulledge of Dadeville, Danielle Gulledge Queen (Daniel) of Alexander City, Charli Gulledge Spates (Adam) of Birmingham, and Joseph Gulledge (Cindy) of Dadeville; great-grandchildren Kora Champion, Rachel Champion Smith (Caleb), Issac Champion, Jacob Champion, Leeanne Gulledge, Dana Gulledge, Wayne Gulledge, Kylee Grace Queen, Hannah Kate Queen, Addison Spates, J.P. Spates, Brody Gulledge, and Aubrey Ann Smith; sister, Sandra Harbison Hancock of Cullman; and brother, Nolan Harbison of Cullman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Birdie Harbison; wife, Billie Sanders Harbison; great-grandchild, Ivey Marie Queen; sister, Ruth Harbison Cone; and brother, Edwin Harbison.
