Mr. Henry Lee Davis' Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. Henry Lee Davis, 74, of Dadeville, Alabama, will be Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Old Union Baptist Church. Bro. Terry Carter will officiate. Burial will follow in the Old Union Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Langley Funeral Home. Mr. Davis will Lie in State 1 hour prior to the service at Old Union Baptist Church.
Mr. Davis passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at East Alabama Medical Center. He was born on March 22, 1949 in Sylacauga, Alabama. Mr. Davis retired from Russell Corporation and was an Army Vietnam War Veteran. He loved his family dearly especially his grandchildren which he was known as "Paw Paw." Mr. Davis enjoyed going to yard sales, fishing, and going to the casino. He was known as a "jokester" to everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gladys Davis; son, James Pressley (Patricia); daughter, Penny Hooks (Doug); son in law, Jeff Collins; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; brothers, Glenn Sims (Pricilla), Ricky Sims (Nora Jean), and Jessie Frank Sims; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Milinda "Ladybug" Collins and Maria Davis; sons, Henry Lee Davis, Jr. and William Julian Davis; mother, Zora Pearl Davis; father, Walter B. Sims; sisters, Dorothy Hill and Voncille Brown; and brothers, Waymon Sims, Dwalter Sims, Jimmy Sims, and John Loyd Sims.
