Mrs. Sandra B. Payne's Obituary
Graveside Service for Mrs. Sandra B. Payne, 81, of Reform and formerly of Dadeville, will be Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Tallapoosa County Memory Gardens. Randy Anderson will officiate.
Sandra Boone Payne, affectionately known as Sandra by her loved ones, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2024, in Reform, Alabama. Born on April 13, 1943, in Langdale, Alabama, Sandra's warm presence and nurturing spirit were hallmarks of her 81 years on this earth.
Sandra moved to the Buttston Community in 1950 and graduated from Camp Hill High School. She married her husband, Buddy Payne in 1961 and they lived on Lake Martin. She worked many years at Dadeville Drug and later as a payroll clerk at Dadeville Healthcare. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church for many years.
Sandra's legacy is carried on by her beloved daughter, Karen Brooks, and her adored granddaughters, Anna, Julia, and Lauren Brooks, who will forever hold dear the countless moments of laughter and love they shared. She is also survived by her sister, Gloria Boone Wilson, and her husband, Dwight, who will miss Sandra's companionship and unwavering support. Sandra was greeted in heaven by her father, James Monroe Boone, her mother, Clara Bell Boone, her devoted husband, Edward A. "Buddy" Payne, and her brother, Clinton Boone, with whom she is now joyfully reunited.
Throughout her life, Sandra cultivated a passion for creativity and the simple pleasures of daily life. She was an excellent cook, known for making the best biscuits every day for many years, a tradition that will be fondly remembered by her family and friends. She also made the best cornbread and chocolate pie as well. Sandra's talent extended beyond the kitchen to her arts and crafts, where she expressed her creativity through making and selling bead jewelry, a testament to her artistic spirit. Sandra was also passionately a collector of dolls and frogs
Sandra's love for games, particularly dominos and cards, brought laughter and competitiveness to family gatherings. Her granddaughters will forever cherish the memories of their grandmother's playful spirit and the valuable life lessons learned during those precious times together. She was also an avid Auburn fan and enjoyed watching them play football.
Sandra's life was a tapestry of love, care, and artistic expression. Her nurturing presence will be deeply missed, yet her influence will continue to be felt by those who were fortunate enough to know her. Sandra's unwavering love for her family, her passion for life, and her creative spirit have left an indelible mark on the world.
