Mrs. Nettie Gaye Haggerty She was born Nettie Gaye Tinney on February 14, 1938 to Joseph Isaac Tinney and Mildred Denney Tinney in Clay County Alabama. Gaye passed away on August 28, 2019 at her home of 60 years. Gaye married Bobb Read Obituary
I met Mrs. Haggerty a number of years ago when some friends were celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary there at Camp ASCCA. Little did I know-she knew my family before I did-as my PaPa had taught her in chemistry & math & science in Clay County many years before. She was truly a blessing!! So sorry for your loss...but Thankful for her gain to be with her Savior too. Love & prayers are with her family & friends.

Once when the power was out for teen week prom at ASCCA we sat in her office for over a hour and just talked. She was such a loving person and took care of those she loved which was really everyone. Best figs and Japanese okra.
Loved me some Ms. Gaye! When I worked springtime at Camp Ascca, I would bring her some crappie, and she would make me some poke sallet. Seemed like a fair trade to me. ....

Mrs. Gaye was the absolute best! She spent countless long hours and days taking care of our campers, staff, and visitors at Camp ASCCA. Sometimes you might think it was a bother to her, but she had a deep and profound love for all things Camp ASCCA. She was really like a mother to us all! Thank you Haggerty family for sharing her with us all for so many years.
