Nina Ruth Griggs' Obituary
Nina Ruth Griggs, a longtime resident of Dadeville, Alabama, passed peacefully on September 19, 2023 at her home. She was born in Marion County, Alabama, on January 26, 1939, to Cooper Meacham and Ruby Maness Meacham.
Over the years, Nina enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. A devoted fan of Auburn Football, she spent countless hours cheering her team on. Lake Martin held a special place in Nina's heart, sparking her love for boat rides, sunrises, and sunsets. She loved sitting on her deck watching everything in nature, especially hummingbirds. Last but certainly not least she loved her dog, Kyle.
Nina is survived by her son, Johnny Wayne Railey (Debbie), daughters, Kim Railey Baker, and Tressa Vickers Yates. Her grandchildren, Lindsey Campbell (Jimmy), Mallory Railey, Mischon Chastain (Thomas), Alana Arnberg (Daniel), Danielle Yates, and Railey Isabella Baker, will remember her with love and gratitude as will her great-grandchildren, Adeline Chastain and James Campbell. Also surviving Nina are several nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.
Nina was predeceased by her husband, Bobby Jack Griggs, parents, brother, William Irby "Billy" Meacham, and sisters, Julia Cooper Moody, and Mary Kate "Kitty" McGill.
Nina will be dearly missed by those who loved her, and they will be comforted by the memories shared with her.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Enhabit Hospice for their compassion and care.
Following Nina’s wishes there will not be a public memorial service.
