Graveside service for Mrs. Opal Geneva Hartley, 84, of Dadeville, will be Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 5:00 pm at the Tallapoosa County Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Hartley passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Lake Martin Community Hospital. She was born on August 9, 1930 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Sidney Elton Hornsby and Linda Lee Guthrie Hornsby. Mrs. Opal loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren. She was a wonderful, giving and very caring lady and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Yarbrough of Conyers, GA; grandchildren, Joey Yarbrough, Bryan Turley, John Lynn Stroud (Sherry), Scott Smith (Dana) and Michael Merritt; eleven great grandchildren; and fourteen great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Alvin Hartley; parents; daughters, Joyce Hill, Nancy Turley and Mary Smith; grandchildren, Wayne Smith and Mandy Merrett; sisters, Margie Cosby, Lurlene Carroll, Ruby Walls, Gladys Tillery and Lorene Carno; and brothers, Brody Hornsby, Owen Hornsby, Cleveland Hornsby and Fletcher Hornsby.
