Ms. Patricia Ann Harris' Obituary
Ms. Patricia Ann Harris, affectionately known as Pat, passed away peacefully in her hometown of Opelika, Alabama on September 3, 2023. Born on August 29, 1947, Pat was a beloved figure in her community, known for her faith, intelligence, and loving nature.
Pat was a proud alumna of Auburn University, where she earned her Master's degree. Her passion for learning was matched only by her commitment to her career. For 38 years, she served as the Director of Lab at Jackson Hospital, where her dedication and expertise made a significant impact on countless lives.
Pat's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. An avid Auburn football fan and was known for her spirited cheers and unwavering team loyalty. Her love for cooking was legendary among her family and friends, who often gathered around her table to share laughter, stories, and her delicious meals. Pat also found great joy in spending time with her family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Pat's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a faithful member of Dalraida Baptist Church, where she served with devotion and loved her church family dearly. Her faith was evident in her everyday actions and the love she showed to everyone she met.
Pat was also a devoted pet owner. Her beloved dog, Scooter, was a constant companion and source of comfort and joy. Their bond was a testament to Pat's nurturing spirit and her capacity for unconditional love.
Pat was survived by her sister, Jennie Lowery, who passed away just six days after her; her niece and adopted daughter, Crystal Jenkins (Clint) of Opelika; her great nieces, Jacie Jenkins, Justice Prickett, and Carly Prickett; her great nephews, Gavin Prickett (Ansli) and Spencer Prickett (Lauryn); her great great-nephew, Jase Prickett; and her great great-niece, Aliyah Watson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Nell Jennings Harris; her father, Homer Bruce Harris; her sister, Evelyn Harris; and her niece, Colleen Prickett.
Pat's life was a testament to her loving and faith-filled nature. Her intelligence shone through in her successful career and her commitment to lifelong learning. She was a beacon of love and faith in her community, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Her loss will be deeply felt by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate her life, remembering the love she gave, the wisdom she shared, and the memories she created. Patricia Ann Harris, our beloved Pat, will be missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
