Mr. Patterson Glenn Kelley's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. Patterson Glenn Kelley, 73, of Dadeville, Alabama, will be Sunday, July 23, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Rev. Jamey Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in the Tallapoosa County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Patterson Glenn Kelley was born on Sunday, May 14, 1950 in Fort Benning, Georgia to Mr. Raymond Kelley, Jr. and Mrs. Martha Vivian Patterson Kelley. As soon as Glenn graduated high school, he was drafted into the United States Army where he proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. He was in active duty for a year and four months, demonstrating his patriotism, bravery, and commitment. Following his military service, Glenn embarked on a career at Auburn University where he worked as a carpenter. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were evident in his work, leaving a lasting impact on the University. Glenn was a man of faith and was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church.
In his leisure time, Glenn enjoyed various hobbies and interests. He was an avid Auburn football fan and took pleasure in showing up and supporting the local Dadeville school football team. His talent for woodworking ran deeper than just a job, and he also found enjoyment in gardening. Glenn had a special place in his heart for animals and especially cherished his companion and service dog, Bella V. Kelley, who was always by his side. His sense of humor and ability to connect with others through conversation and jokes endeared him to his family and friends.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 23 years, Lisa M. Kelley; daughter, Casey M. Kelley; sons, Marcus G. Kelley, Cody L. (Kara) Harper, Dylan P. MacMillan; grandchildren, Madison Owens, Madlyn Luster, Cooper Kelley, Kason Luster, Sophia Grace MacMillan; great-grandchild, Grayson Owens; sister, Diane Kelley Roberts; brother, Jerry Lynn (Brenda) Kelley; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Kelley, Jr. and Martha Kelley; and nephew, Robin Ray Roberts.
Patterson Glenn Kelley leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and wisdom. He fought the good fight throughout his life whether it was for his family, his country, or through illness. His personality and love of life will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
