Mrs. Peggy Boone Moran's Obituary
A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Peggy Boone Moran, 89, of Dadeville, Alabama, will be Monday, January 16, 2023 at 12:00 pm at the Eagle Creek Baptist Church, 7734 Horseshoe Bend Road, Dadeville, Alabama 36853. Rev. Tim Thompson and Rev. Taylor Gurley will officiate. Burial will follow in the Eagle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 16, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at Eagle Creek Baptist Church.
Mrs. Moran passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Arbor Lakes Health and Rehab. She was born on December 8, 1933 in Jacksons Gap, Alabama to William "Bill" and Katie Belle Harris Boone. Mrs. Moran loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren which she was affectionally known as “Nanny”. She was a School Bus Driver for over 30 years with the Tallapoosa County Board of Education and was known as “Aunt Peggy” to all the children. Mrs. Moran was an active member of Eagle Creek Baptist Church for many years. Mrs. Moran enjoyed helping her neighbors and friends. She had a love for the outdoors, enjoyed visitors in her home and was known for her “fried apple pies”. Mrs. Moran was a jokester and the “life of the party”.
She is survived by her daughter, Darcy Moran of Auburn, Alabama; son, Randy Moran (LeAnne) of Jacksons Gap, Alabama; grandchildren, Jeremy Moran (Sarah) of Chelsea, Alabama and Harris Moran of Dothan, Alabama; great-grandchildren, Kate Moran and Whit Moran; sisters, Sharon Boone Patterson Traylor (Bobby) and Sue Boone Harris (Pete); brother, Leon Boone all of Dadeville, Alabama; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Horace Moran; parents; sister, Maurene Boone; and brothers, Billy Boone and Amos Boone.
The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Eagle Creek Cemetery Fund, 9540 Horseshoe Bend Road, Dadeville, Alabama 36853.
