Rev. James H. "Jamey" Williams, II's Obituary
Funeral Service for Rev. James H. "Jamey" Williams, II, 55, of Dadeville, Alabama, will be Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Bethel Baptist Church. Sierra Simpson and Destiny Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bethel Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Langley Funeral Home. Rev. Williams will Lie in State 1 hour prior to the service at Bethel Baptist Church.
Rev. Jamey Williams passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Lake Martin Community Hospital. He was born on June 7, 1968 in Alexander City, Alabama to James Harold Williams and Joanne Fuller Williams. Rev. Williams was a man of God that preached and shared God's word for over 22 years. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren which he was known as "Pop Pop" to them. Rev. Williams enjoyed watching Westerns, taking care of all his animals, and gardening. He loved to take his grandchildren to the "Yellow and Green Store" and making homemade ice cream for family gatherings.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lisa Simpson Williams; sons, C.J. Williams (Kayla) and Josh Simpson (Brooke); grandchildren, Kayleigh Simpson, Colson Williams, Madisyn Simpson, Mckynlee Simpson, and Ivar Williams; brothers, Aubrey Williams (Karen) and Kerry Williams (Dana); mother-in-law, Jane Lankford; Godchild, Destiny Brown; and special niece, Sierra Simpson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Scott Williams.
