Mr. Richard "Rudy" Stewart's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. Richard "Rudy" Stewart, 66, of Jacksons Gap, Alabama, will be Friday, September 17, 2021, at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Bro. Andrew Collum will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dadeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 16, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Mr. Stewart passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at East Alabama Medical Center. He was born on December 17, 1954, in Sylacauga, Alabama to Stanley Van Stewart and Leona Turner Stewart. Rudy was a loving and compassionate man that never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends but the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in his heart. His hobbies included watching NASCAR and cheering on his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide football team. Rudy was a man who “wore many hats” and there was nothing that he had not done.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marie B. Stewart; children, Stacy Haddox, Richard Joe Stewart (Angela), Dana Abney (Ezra), Jennifer Stewart (Saban); bonus children, Kyle and Chad Wilson; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Vann Stewart (Pearl) and James Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
