Mr. Robert Gordon McCollum's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. Robert Gordon McCollum, 80, of Dadeville, Alabama, will be Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Rev. Jimmy Allen will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
Mr. McCollum passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at his residence. He was born on October 24, 1941 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to George Wiley McCollum and Ruth Bunn McCollum. He was an active member and deacon at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Mr. McCollum was the first letter carrier in Dadeville. He retired from the US Postal Service with 25+ years of service. After retiring, he helped his son with his sawmill business. Mr. McCollum enjoyed gardening, working in his yard and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Julia Ann Jinks McCollum; sons, Robert Mitchell McCollum (Ginger), Michael Gordon McCollum and John Mark McCollum (Erin); and grandchildren, Robert Lane McCollum, Samuel George McCollum and Calla Jade McCollum.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
