Funeral Service for Mr. Robert Lewis Wilkerson, 87, of Dadeville, Alabama, will be Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Bro. Joe Creamer will officiate. Burial will follow in the Union Church Cemetery - Dadeville. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Robert Lewis Wilkerson Sr., a beacon of love and faith, passed away surrounded by the warmth of his family's love. Born to the late Edward Gaines Wilkerson and Mable R. Wilkerson, Robert's life was a tapestry woven with devotion to his family, his work, and his faith.
A proud graduate of Lanett High School, Robert channeled his keen intellect and meticulous nature into a fulfilling career as an accountant. Serving the Tallassee area, he was not only respected for his professional expertise but also cherished for his integrity and kindness. His work was more than a job; it was a means to form lasting relationships and contribute positively to the community he held dear.
Robert's Christian faith was the cornerstone of his existence. It guided him through life's ebbs and flows and was a source of comfort and strength to him and those around him. His love for gospel music was profound, and he found joy in watching gospel singing on television, often humming along to the melodies that resonated with his spirit.
A man of simple pleasures, Robert relished the moments spent on his porch, watching the boats glide across the lake, reflecting the serenity he found in nature. This peaceful pastime was a testament to his appreciation for life's quieter moments and the beauty that surrounded him.
Described by those who knew him as loving, faith-filled, and selfless, Robert's legacy is one of unwavering love and generosity. He was a pillar in his family, offering guidance and support without hesitation. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his spirit remains a guiding light.
Robert's memory is cherished by his loving family. He is survived by his sons, Robert L. (Cherry) Wilkerson, Edward (Debra) Wilkerson, and Kenneth (Debbie) Wilkerson. His grandchildren, who will miss his gentle presence, include Scott (Christie) Wilkerson, Robin (Jim) Goodman, , Ashley (DJ) Williams, Casey Watkins, Candiace Bowen, Nicholas (Stephanie) Watkins, Katrina (Nate) Reyes, Shelly (Brad) Collins, Jennifer Wilkerson, Jacob Wilkerson, Haley (Wesley) Harmon and Denise Wilkerson Milam. His legacy extends to numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, who will grow up hearing stories of his kindness and grace.
Preceding him in death were his beloved wife, Martha K. Wilkerson, his daughter, Juanese Watkins, his son, James R. Wilkerson, and his grandson, Chris Wilkerson. Their reunion in eternity is a comfort to those who grieve his loss.
