Mr. Roger Dale Phillips' Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. Roger Dale Phillips, 74, of Dadeville, Alabama, will be Sunday, May 28, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the New Concord Baptist Church. Rev. Lenny Arnold and Bro. Rod Siggers will officiate. Burial will follow in the Concord Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 28, 2017 from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm at New Concord Baptist Church.
Mr. Phillips passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. He was born on May 19, 1943 in Alexander City, Alabama to Calvin Phillips and Ailene Phillips. He was an active member of New Concord Baptist Church. He worked for many years for Russell Corp as a Supervisor and Technician. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and walking outdoors. Mr. Phillips enjoyed life, spending time with his family, and playing with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Benton Patterson Phillips of Dadeville; daughters, Renee Mackey (Randy) of Beauregard, Rhonda Nelson (Billy Wayne) of Dadeville, and Tammy Newsome (Lamar) of Dadeville; grandchildren, Jeff McDonald (Susan), Jody McDonald (Stephanie), Joshua Mackey (Candy), Jared Mackey, Kristie Siggers (Rod), Brandy Vickers Anderson (Kitty), Ashley Vickers Sullivan (Tom), Jeremy Vickers (Beth), and Jason Newsome; Twelve Great Grandchildren; Mother, Ailene Phillips of Alexander City; sister, Brenda Spradley of Lagrange, GA; brothers, Eddie Phillips of Jackson’s Gap and Tommy Phillips (Lynn) of Dadeville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Phillips.
