Roland Eugene Walker's Obituary
Funeral service for Mr. Roland Eugene Walker, 74, of Dadeville, will be Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Rev. Rogers Lewis and Rev. Donald Mehearg will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lebanon Cemetery with veteran’s honors provided by the Alabama National Guard. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Mr. Walker passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at his residence. He was born on March 18, 1940 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Jack Daniel Walker and Pauline Price Walker. He was an active member of Faith Assembly of God. Mr. Walker enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cooking and was an avid Alabama football and NASCAR’s Jeff Gordon fan. He loved his family. His children were his pride, and his grandchildren were his heart. Mr. Walker loved his country and served it with honor. He loved helping others and was full of laughter. Mr. Walker loved life, the Lord, and was a good man, and it showed in everything he did.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Margie Lane Walker of Dadeville; daughters, Audrey Walker White (David) and Christal Walker Huff all of Dadeville; son, Jack Wade Walker (Regina) of Dadeville; grandchildren, Marian Ashley White, Jazzmin Danielle Huff, Andrea LeAnn White, Madison Grace Huff, and Roland Alexander Walker; sister, Verna Hamby (Ronnie) of Dadeville; and brother, Billy Wayne Walker (Peggy) of Alexander City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Nolan Walker and Jerry Walker.
