Ronnie Milam passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at his home. Born in Alexander City on April 25, 1954, he was the son of Arlin Jackson Milam and Myrtis Monroe McClendon. Ronnie loved his Lord and was a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church. He worked for Russell Corporation as a truck driver for many years and instilled that hard work and dedication into his children. Ronnie was a gifted artist who specialized in oil-based landscape paintings of beautiful trees and mountains as well as pastel work. When he wasn't painting, you could find him fishing anywhere he was able to drop a line whether it was in a boat or standing on the side of a bank.
Ronnie was a "good ole boy" with an old soul and a caring heart to all he knew. That loving nature was evident in the caretaking of various family members as well as serving as a strong father figure to many children over the years. Ronnie loved being a daddy and "Paw Paw," but he loved being a husband to his best friend, Jacqueline. The two married in February of 1977 and, since her passing in 2019, he has been longing for the day when he would be reunited with her. Ronnie never stopped loving her, and his broken heart never recovered. Although it brings sadness to see him go, Ronnie's family finds comfort in knowing that Mrs. Jacqueline was certainly waiting for him at the gates, ready to walk hand in hand once more.
Ronnie is survived by his daughters, Bridgette (Jeremie Meadors) Key; McKenzie M. (Michael) Reid; grandchildren, Greenleigh Key, Joleigh Key, Novaleigh Key, Killian Reid, Kayn Reid; and sister, Cheryl Milam Harris.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Milam; father, Arlin Jackson Milam; mother, Myrtis McClendon; and sister, Doris Milam Davis.
Langley Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ronnie Arline Milam.
