Mrs. Shirley Henderson's Obituary
Shirley Henderson, our mother, Nannie, sister, aunt, and friend to all, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Dadeville Healthcare Center.
Funeral Service for Mrs. Rosie Shirley Ann Carter Henderson, 79, of Dadeville, will be Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Rev. Jimmy Allen, Rev. Frank Chappell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Henderson was born on December 3, 1937 in Waverly, Alabama to William Albert Carter and Mary Maggie Chappell Carter. She was an active member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She was owner of Hindu’s Kitchen in Innis, LA and Dadeville. She was an excellent cook and loved feeding others. She held the title of “Homemade Biscuit Queen” of her family. She was also an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, and visiting with family. Her greatest joy came from helping others.
She is survived by her children, Paula McCarty of Gainsville, FL, Danny McDaniel (Mona) of Batchelor, LA, Michael Henderson of Dadeville, Brad Henderson of Columbia, LA, Dodi Shaddix (William) of Jacksons Gap; Grandchildren, Corey McDaniel (Amy), Ryan McDaniel (Deanna), Danielle Bordelon (Josh), Shawn Gaspard, Kinsey Shaddix, Elizabeth Bailey (Daniel), Whitney Henderson, Karley Henderson, Will McCarty; Sixteen Great Grandchildren; Three Great Great Grandchildren; sister, Lila Strickland of Panama City, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wilford Henderson; Father, William Albert Carter; Mother, Mary Maggie Carter; and Son, Jody Arnold; Brother, William "Sonny" Carter.
