Mrs. Ruby Lee Wise Mann, affectionately known as Granny, passed away on June 30, 2026, in Dadeville, Alabama, at the age of 94. She was born on July 6, 1931, in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, and lived a long, meaningful life marked by faith, kindness, and devotion to others.
Granny was a proud and hardworking woman who spent many years as a Sewing Machine Operator before retiring from Russell Corporation. She approached her work with diligence and care, and she carried that same steady spirit into every part of her life. Her strong work ethic was matched by her generous heart, and she was the kind of woman who always found a way to help, encourage, and provide for others. She loved to work and enjoyed sewing, and she took great pride in using her hands to create and mend with skill and patience.
A faithful Christian, Granny loved the Lord deeply and lived her life in a way that reflected her beliefs. She was a longtime member of Oak Ridge Community Church, where her presence was a blessing to many. Her faith was not simply something she spoke about, but something she demonstrated through her actions each day. She was a Godly lady whose life was grounded in prayer, compassion, and service. Her gentle spirit and steadfast devotion were evident to all who knew her.
Granny was known for her loving nature and her open heart. She loved everyone and never met a stranger. She welcomed people with warmth and sincerity, and she had a special way of making others feel valued and cared for. She was very giving and always bought and gave to others, often thinking of others before herself. Her generosity was one of her defining traits, and her family and friends will always remember how freely she shared what she had. She was truly granny to everyone, and her love extended far beyond her immediate family.
She also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She loved to go to yard sales and then to thrift stores, always on the lookout for treasures and special finds. She was a collector, especially of old dishes. Her home and her life reflected her appreciation for the old, the useful, and the beautiful. She found joy in the small things and made the most of every opportunity to create comfort and happiness.
Granny was also an excellent cook, and her kitchen was often the heart of her home. She loved having family at her house eating Sunday dinner after church, and those meals became cherished memories for all who gathered around her table. Fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, and chocolate pudding were just a few of her specialties, and her cooking was remembered not only for its flavor but for the love with which it was prepared. Her family will forever treasure the warmth, laughter, and fellowship shared over her meals.
She loved her vegetable garden and her flowers, and she found joy in caring for the things she grew. Her life was filled with the kind of beauty that came from nurturing, patience, and attention. Whether she was tending her garden, sewing, cooking, or welcoming someone into her home, she did so with grace and devotion. She was a faith-filled, loving, and generous woman whose example touched many lives.
She is survived by her children Brenda (Joe) Moore, Larry (Becky) Mann, and Betty Jean Ragar; grandchildren, Lynn Mann, Michael (Libby) Bevels, Shane (Amanda) Bevels, Joshua (Rae) Bevels, Stephen Mann, Christopher Mann, and Tracey Bourgeois; ten plus great-grandchildren; two plus great great-grandchildren; and sister, Becky Ewing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Jeff Mann; brothers, Benny Wise, George Wise, and Perry Wise, Jr.; sisters, Mary E. Wise and Ruth Mann; and grandson, Mark Ragar.
Granny leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and selfless love. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though she will be deeply missed, the impact of her life will remain a lasting comfort and blessing to her family, her church, and her community.
The family would like to give a special “thank you” to the nurses and aides at Dadeville Healthcare for the wonderful love, care and support that was given to Granny.
