Ms. Sadie Florence Campbell's Obituary
Funeral service for Ms. Sadie Florence Campbell, 95, of Dadeville, will be Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Bro. Hunter Baker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Eagle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Ms. Campbell passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Dadeville Healthcare Center. She was born on June 13, 1919 in Eagle Creek, Alabama to Richard Winslett Evers and Nellie Pearl Lloyd Evers. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dadeville and was very active there as long as she could. Ms. Campbell worked at the Bank of Dadeville for 30 plus years. She served for several years on the City Council and was the first female on the Council. She was also involved in many civic activities and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Ms. Campbell enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading the Opelika Auburn News daily, cooking, and spending time with her family most of all.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Campbell (Greg), of Jackson’s Gap; sons, Stanley Campbell (Gloria), of Opelika and Jimmy Campbell (Ginny), of Montgomery; grandchildren, Amanda Goad (Mike), Brittany Campbell, Clay Campbell, Adam Campbell (Jennifer), and Brad Campbell; great-grandchildren, Evelyn "Evie" Campbell and Jay Campbell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lavina Valentine, Ruth Black, and Nadine Pasley; and brothers, R.V. "Buck" Evers and Lloyd Evers.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church of Dadeville, P.O. Box 308, Dadeville, AL 36853.
