Ms. Sadie Shurum's Obituary
Funeral Service for Ms. Sadie Shurum, 70, of Jacksons Gap, Alabama, will be Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Bro. Terry Carter and Rev. Mark Rogers will officiate. Burial will follow in the Old Union Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Ms. Shurum passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery. She was born on September 28, 1951 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Collen Davis and Gertrude Sims Davis. Ms. Shurum loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she was lovingly known as “Maw Maw” to them. She attended Old Union Baptist Church. Ms. Shurum enjoyed growing roses and tomatoes, going shopping, watching Hallmark movies, The Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons, camping, and spending time with her family at family gatherings.
She is survived by her daughters, Laura Crouch (Michael) of Jacksons Gap, AL, and Brenda Goodson (Scotty) of Dadeville, AL; son, Steven Shurum of Dadeville, AL; grandchildren, Aubrey Goodson (Jessica), Amanda Goodson, Allen Crouch, Tyler Shurum (Ashley), and Jacob Shurum; great-grandchildren, Miley Goodson, Marlee Kate Goodson, Jacob Allen Crouch, and Abbygail Shurum; sisters, Glenda Pinkston (William) and Linda Garrett (Terry); and brothers, William Davis, Bobby Davis (Shelia), Freddie Davis, and James Davis.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Versho Shurum, Jr.; parents; and sister, Minnie Stewart.
