Mr. Steven Wayne Patterson's Obituary
Mr. Steven Wayne Patterson, 64, of Auburn, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025. He was born on November 25, 1960, in Alexander City, AL to Tyrone W. Patterson and Prencella L. Patterson. Steven graduated Dadeville High School in 1978. He was a member of the Boy Scout Troup in Dadeville where he achieved Eagle Scout. Steven attended Auburn University where he studied Aeronautical Engineering. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he worked in the Nuclear Power Program and got to travel the world.
After leaving the Navy, he returned to Auburn to be near all things AU sports. If you were curious or needed to know an AU statistic, score, or player info, all you had to do was ask Steven. He loved fishing, camping, and canoeing on the Tallapoosa River with his many buddies. He was a great cook and was often in charge of the grill or campfire for fun gatherings.
He is survived by his mother, Prencella Hamby; aunts, Benton Phillips, Jean Altman, and so many cousins and wonderful friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Tyrone W. Patterson; step-father, James "Bud" Hamby; many loving aunts and uncles and two very close and dear friends, Tommy Grayson and Fletcher Little.
Thank you all for the love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Also, many blessings on the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff at EAMC ICU.
There will be a special celebration of Steven's life at a later date.
