Mr. Timothy Edward Sheridan's Obituary
Timothy Edward Sheridan, a devoted father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Baptist South Medical Center.
He was born on February 10, 1942, in Akron, Ohio, to Noah Edward Sheridan and Mildred Zaveson Sheridan. Timothy lived a life marked by steady dedication, quiet strength, and a deep love for the people around him. He carried himself with a practical spirit and a generous heart, and those who knew him will remember him as a man who was handy, loving, and selfless in all that he did.
Timothy was employed by Babcock and Wilcox defense firm for more than 40 years, where he worked as a machinist. He took pride in his work and was known for his reliability, skill, and strong work ethic. His long career reflected the same qualities that guided his life outside of work, including patience, responsibility, and a willingness to do whatever was needed. He was the kind of man others could count on, and he never hesitated to lend a hand when someone needed help.
Family was at the center of Timothy’s life. He was devoted to his loved ones and was always willing to help his parents, his siblings, or anyone else who might need support. His care for others was evident in the way he lived each day, and his kindness left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him. He is survived by his daughter, Shawn Adele Goodwin; his son, Terence Scott Sheridan; and his grandsons, Zachary David Goodwin, Nathaniel Edward Goodwin, and Joshua Michael Goodwin. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas Noah Sheridan and his wife Carol, and his sister, Nalani Lei Barton.
In his younger years, Timothy enjoyed hiking and bicycling, and he found joy in the outdoors and in the freedom of the open road. One of the memorable adventures of his life came in his thirties, when he and his brother bicycled from the west coast to the east coast. That journey reflected his determination, endurance, and appreciation for meaningful experiences shared with family. He also had a dry sense of humor that brought a quiet smile to those around him, and he kept up with current events, always remaining interested in the world beyond his immediate surroundings.
Timothy will be remembered as a man of character and substance, someone whose life was built on hard work, loyalty, and love. He was dependable in the truest sense, and his presence brought comfort and stability to those who knew him best. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the work he completed with care, and the many lives he touched through his thoughtful and selfless nature.
Though he will be deeply missed, Timothy Edward Sheridan’s memory will remain a source of strength and gratitude for his family and friends. His life was a testament to the value of devotion, perseverance, and quiet generosity, and he will be remembered with love and respect always.
