Mrs. Vatsana passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Born on February 1, 1972, in Laos, to Nouthai Sourya and Noukham Walker, she embodied the epitome of generosity, love, and devout faith throughout her 53 years of life.
Vatsana was a beacon of benevolence in her community, always prioritizing the needs of others above her own. Her servant's heart knew no bounds, touching the lives of many with her endless capacity to give. As a skilled baker, her hands crafted more than just cakes; they wove threads of joy into the fabric of every occasion she graced, leaving a sweet memory in the hearts of all who were fortunate to taste her creations.
Her love for her family was unparalleled. As a devoted wife, nurturing mother, and doting grandmother, she was the cornerstone of her family, instilling values of kindness and faith. Mrs. Coker's loving nature and gracious spirit were felt far beyond her familial circle, extending to everyone she encountered.
Each Friday night, without fail, Vatsana could be found at the local football field, a symbol of her unwavering support for her community. There, she would be serving water to the thirsty, cheering on the team, and sharing smiles that would light up the atmosphere, rain or shine.
Vatsana's legacy is characterized by her loving nature, her faith-filled life, and her generous spirit. She left an indelible mark on those around her, teaching by example the virtue of putting others first. Her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her, as they recall her warmth, her laughter, and the profound impact she made on every life she touched.
As we bid farewell to Mrs. Vatsana Sourya Coker, we celebrate a life extraordinarily well-lived and cherish the memories she leaves behind. Her spirit, encapsulated in acts of kindness and selflessness, will endure in the many lives she enriched.
