Mr. Wayne C. Waldrop's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. Wayne Waldrop, 68, of Opelika, Alabama, will be Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 4:00 pm at the Bethel Baptist Church. Rev. Jamey Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm at Bethel Baptist Church.
Mr. Waldrop passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Goodwater Healthcare. He was born on December 25, 1947 in Clay County, Alabama to John Jacie Waldrop and Carrell Hurst Waldrop. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling to gospel singings with his wife, watching Jimmy Swaggart, and flea markets. He was an avid Alabama fan. Mr. Wayne was a big cut up, an aggravator, and loved kids.
He is survived by his sons, Wesley Waldrop (Julii) of Benton, KY, Scott Williams of Jacksons Gap, and Aubrey Williams (Karen) of Jacksons Gap; grandchildren, Cole Waldrop, Matthew Jenkins, Jonathon Jenkins (Cassandra), Jade Bruce (Jeremiah), Grace Williams, Gabby Williams, and Kody Warren; great-grandchildren, McKenzie Jenkins and Kylie Jenkins; sisters, Hilda Pruitt of Goodwater and Wendy Price of Alexander City; and brother, George "Buddy" Waldrop of Alexander City.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Smith Waldrop; parents; sisters, Lola Wilkerson and Rosie Campbell; and brothers, Glynt Waldrop and Sheryl Waldrop.
