Mr. Wyoma McCormick
June 9, 1933 - April 2, 2016
Funeral Service for Mr. Wyoma McCormick, 82, of Dadeville, will be Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 4:00 pm at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Rev. Tony Harris will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dadeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Mr. McCormick passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at his residence. He was born on June 9, 1933 in Buttston, Alabama to James Buddy McCormick and Fannie McCormick. He worked as a painter for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing with his sons and brothers. Mr. McCormick enjoyed Auburn Football, NASCAR, and other TV programs. He was an environmental advocate.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Brenda McCormick of Dadeville, daughters, Connie (Johnny) Wyche of Alexander City, Wanda Henderson of Dadeville, and, Rhonda (Mickey) Smith of Newnan, GA; sons, Oma Wayne (Susan) McCormick of Camp Hill and David (Susan) McCormick of Alexander City; grandchildren, Josh (Amber) Peppers, Constance (Billy) Smith, Jason (Candace) Peppers, Oma Wayne (Jennifer) McCormick, Jr., Keith Henderson, Jr., Mickey B. (Megan) Smith, Brittney (Jonathon) McDonald, Austin Smith, Chloe (Andrew) Smith, Tiffany McCormick, Eric McCormick, Troy (Ashley) McCormick; great-grandchildren, Aaron and Wesley Davis, Brad Smith, Ivaleigh and Beau Peppers, Kaitlyn, Audrey, Breadon, and Journee McCormick, Karlie Witamyer, Francis Smith, Addilynn McDonald, Savannah and Anna McCormick, and Sierra and Cayden McCormick; several nieces and nephews.
The family is very thankful for the excellent care provided by Southern Care Hospice, Sabrina Smith and Janice Brewer with Southern Care Home Health, and Jim with Southern Patient Care.
He was preceded in death by his son, Wendell Obed McCormick, daughter, Baby McCormick, father, James Buddy McCormick, mother, Fannie McCormick; sisters, Lillian Harris, Frances Florence, and Lela Norris; brothers, Johnny McCormick, Frankie McCormick, Billy McCormick, and Fred McCormick.
