Emory passed away at his home on Friday, June 21, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 8, 1967 in Opelika, Alabama, he was the son of Emory Paul Dillard, Sr. and Delya Faye Moreman Dillard. He was a loyal member of Sardis Church and lived a life that reflected his faith. Emory was a skilled electrician and used those skills in various jobs along the years. He worked at Auburn University for 13 years holding the title of Journeyman Electrician and worked at the Opelika Uniroyal plant for 17 years. Emory's talents went beyond his career with his love for music while playing guitar.
Emory built a life of comfort, security, and love for the ones who meant the most to him-his family. He always made sure that they were taken care of and even earned the name "Paw Paw" from his loving grandchild. In his spare time, he could be found farming and gardening through his pecan orchards, rows of vegetables, or the hardwood timber that lined his property. Plus, you can't forget the chickens! Emory lived in a way that his hard work, strength, and unwavering devotion to family would leave an irreplaceable mark on the hearts of all that he met.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Diana Hunt Dillard; sons, Brent Scott (Monica) Dillard, Phillip Owen (Nora) Dillard; granddaughter, Sophia Rosiland Dillard; brother, Grady Ronald (Michelle) Dillard; mother-in-law, Carol Welch; father-in-law, Henry (Georgia) Hunt; sister-in-law, Brenda (Danny) Enfinger; brothers-in-law, William (Karen) Hunt, and Kenneth (Jackie) Hunt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emory Paul Dillard, Sr.
