Mr. George Gilbert Curley, Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. George Gilbert Curley, Jr., 83, of Dadeville, Alabama and formerly of Double Springs, Alabama passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023 at his residence.
He was born on April 19, 1939 in Birmingham, Alabama to George Gilbert Curley, Sr. and Alla Jane Anderson Curley. Mr. Curley was a retired industrial sandblasting and painting contractor. Other businesses he owned and operated, included a coal mining company and a waste management service. He was a gentleman farmer, US DoD contractor, restaurateur, and Realtor. He was a member of Red Ridge United Methodist Church, Gideons International, men’s prayer group, Dadeville Community Chorus, and the Lake Martin Dulcimer Club. Mr. Curley had many interests and pursuits, especially for woodworking, fishing, fast cars, and great food.
In 2003 he organized the restoration of Corinth Church in Winston County, Alabama. The church became active after being vacant for more than 20 years. The church which was built in 1853 is celebrating 20 years this year.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy Watkins Curley; daughters, Kimberly Walls (Jeff Bonebrake) and Beth Keys (Andrew); son, Greg Curley (Shayla); grandchildren, Grace Keys Carlisle (Taylor), Mitchell Keys, and Hope Keys.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service to honor Mr. Curley will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 10:00 am at Red Ridge UMC.
