Mrs. Edna Finch Jones' Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Edna Finch Jones, 88, of Jacksons Gap, Alabama, will be Sunday, November 19, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Dr. Ben Hayes will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm at Chapel of Langley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Edna Finch Jones, born October 22, 1935, enjoyed an accomplished life full of love and dedication to her family. Following a fruitful life, she peacefully passed away on November 15, 2023, in Alabama. Born and raised in Dadeville, Alabama, Mrs. Jones was a cherished member of her community and an embodiment of faith-filled wisdom that permeated all aspects of her life.
Edna was a proud graduate of Dadeville High School in 1953 and furthered her education at Carraway Nursing School. Empowered by passion and dedication to helping others, she served diligently as a Registered Nurse for 41 years. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Mrs. Jones had a vibrant personal life, filled with cooking exquisite southern meals and meticulously crafting intricate needlepoint. She relished the serenity of birdwatching, the thrill of fishing, and the immersive experience of reading a captivating book. She was a sports enthusiast, always ready to cheer on her favorite teams.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her children, Robert W. Jones, Jr. (Lisa) of Birmingham, Alabama, twins, Kim Whitten (Chris) of Birmingham, Alabama, and Pam Cash (Steve) of Huntsville, Alabama, and David A. Jones (Carol) of Dadeville, Alabama. The joy of her life was her grandkids - Matt Cash (Jenee), Mally Cash, Bobbi Jones (Emilio Benitez), Allie Boyd (Brad), Shelby Beck (Kevin), Cal Jones (Megan), and Cali Jones. Her great-grandchildren also brought her immense joy, including Gabe Cash, Scarlett Cash, Lola Benitez, Dani Benitez, and Tucker Jones. She leaves a legacy of love with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Robert Wilton Jones, their son, George Steven Jones, her mother Isabell Whatley Finch, her father George Smith Finch, and her brother Paul Finch. As we remember Edna today, we celebrate a wise, passionate, and faith-filled lifelong member of First Baptist Church Dadeville whose legacy will continue to inspire family and friends.
The loss of Mrs. Edna Finch Jones leaves a void in the hearts of many. Her life was marked by selfless dedication to her family, steadfast faith, and unwavering passion. May her memory and life's work continue to be an inspiration for those who knew and loved her.
