Mrs. Pauline "Polly" Clanton's Obituary
Pauline “Polly” Clanton, 85, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Polly was married to John T. Clanton for 64 years, with whom she had two children, both deceased. Polly leaves behind many cousins, nephews and nieces, and numerous lifelong friends.
As a loving wife and mother, Pauline chose to be a full-time homemaker and part-time cosmetologist. In her later years, Polly earned her Special Education degree from Auburn, and taught in Alexander City.
A steadfast member of the Pine Grove/Camp Hill Baptist Church, Polly was a source of inspiration and humor for her church family and community. Her willingness to speak her mind, coupled with her insightful wit, made many enjoyable memories for her Sunday school class and visitors to her home.
Polly’s charming personality extended to her irresistible cooking, which she gave freely to her church family and friends. Countless persons have been captivated by her cornbread and “Polly” beans in the fellowship hall, and at her kitchen table. Polly will be missed for many reasons by many people.
A memorial service will be held at the Camp Hill Baptist Church on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Camp Hill Baptist Church. For further information, contact George Hall by leaving a message at (334) 821-9484.
