I met Stan in 1990 at Citrus Show in Lakeland and his first words were that I needed to come see him and learn what he had found out about calcium nitrate and citrus health. And so a wonderful journey with him began that I cherish to this day. He never lost his concern for citrus health and up until the last year or so would call to discuss. I developed a deep respect for him and his work immediately and consider him a giant among his peers for his willingness as a pathologist to consider nutrition as an important aspect of plant health. I became a better plant nutritionist due to his friendship. His legacy lives on in the citrus groves in Florida. Thank you Stan, well done. I look forward to being with you again when my time comes.
