Dr. Zenon Bednarski's Obituary
Dr. Zenon Bednarski, 72, of Dadeville, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at his home. He was born on June 6, 1949 in Augsburg, Germany to Walter Bednarski and Agnes Manka Bednarski. His family migrated from Germany to Montreal, Canada in 1949. Zenon attended Saint Pius X High School in Montreal. Thereafter, he was accepted to the University of Montreal School of Medicine, where he fulfilled his passions for medicine while specializing in Emergency Medicine. This was the beginning of Zenon’s journey to heal his community through warm interactions and brilliant diagnoses. Zenon pursued Emergency Medicine for over thirty years, and he eventually started Auburn Urgent Care to shift towards primary care. “Dr. B” saved countless lives throughout his career and touched many. He accomplished his goal to bring the power of medicine to those that needed it.
Zenon also had a passion for scuba diving. This passion placed him at the bottom of the ocean floors for countless hours. He dove almost every inch of the Caribbean, the Red Sea, and even ventured to the South Pacific’s Solomon Islands. Zenon found joy in attempting to capture the beauty of his dives on film. Along with having the time of his life underwater, Zenon altruistically brought medicinal instructions for islanders and natives. Whether it was the medical floor or ocean floor, Zenon always found a way to live out his passions while making a difference.
Zenon Bednarski’s life spanned far greater than his noble professional accolades. Zenon was the gentle, caring father of his daughter, Alexx Bednarski, and son, John Landon Bednarski. He devoted his life to giving the upmost love for his children and provided them with a life of bliss and opportunity. Even through his sacrifices, a smile remained on Zenon’s face as he ensured his children’s happiness. Furthermore, Zenon was a source of great inspiration for his children. Currently, Alexx Bednarski is attending The McWhorter School of Pharmacy, and John Landon Bednarski is a prospective physician. Undoubtedly, Zenon’s altruism will continue to live within his children as they continue to walk across the stepping-stones he provided them.
He is survived by his daughter, Alexx Bednarski of Birmingham; son, John L. Bednarski of Prattville; and Former wife and mother of his children, Duchi Jones of Prattville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
